Representative Ryan McMullen, Partner

Prior to becoming a full partner in Persuasive Strategies in mid-2007, Representative McMullen completed a term as the Democratic Caucus Chairman of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His service as Caucus Chairman made him the youngest legislator in state history ever elected to House Leadership. His duties included leading the Oklahoma House Democrats campaign efforts in 2006. Ryan is one of those unusual elected officials that enjoys the campaign just as much as governing. Since 1998 Representative McMullen has served as manager or consultant on numerous legislative campaigns. Perhaps most notably was his election to the State House in 2004. Despite the overwhelming odds of opposing the son of a 9-term Congressman in a rural district that Bush carried with 76%, Ryan pulled off the upset. His victory was one the few bright spots in what was a disastrous 2004 election cycle for Oklahoma Democrats. Representative McMullen has first hand success in winning the reddest of districts in the reddest of states. Ryan's less political experiences include a degree in Agricultural Economics, serving as Director of the El Reno Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation, working for many years in radio broadcasting, serving as State 4-H President, and now volunteering as an advisor to 4-H youth in his community. He lives in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, with his Basset Hound, Abby.

Following the Iowa Caucus, Pat was dispatched to New Hampshire, South Carolina and the national office in Chapel Hill. Before working for Senator Edwards, Pat served as the National Field Director for 21st Century Democrats. Other political work includes helping build the field operation for Brad Carson's US Senate race in Oklahoma, which was tagged "the best run Senate campaign of 2004" by National Journal's Hotline, Vince Orza for Governor, and countless local and state elections. He has drafted campaign "how to" manuals for 21st Century Democrats focusing on campaign management, Get Out The Vote (GOTV), voter contact tactics, and message development.
